A stunning flight of imagination from gifted designers was on display at fashion shows in four major fashion capitals recently: New York, Paris, London and Milan. As always, the offerings excited and delighted audiences, with an incredible amount of new colours and styles. Upon reflection, ten key trends seem to stand out as defining the fashion spring and summer season of 2017. Here is what to pay attention to when choosing your next new wardrobe:
Shocking Pink
The season trends list is headed by the colour pink: Candy pink, pale pink, deep cherry and raspberry. A really sweet girl’s outfit provides an opportunity to look at the world through rose-colored glasses.
Yellow Fever
Lemon, white, fluorescent yellow — the colours that were literally “shot” at the shows in the four major fashion capitals. 2017 Summer will surely be vivid and memorable.
Spring Flowering
Floral motif is not surprising for the spring, but this season it acquires fresh meaning: Gentle flowering mixed with a bold, distant kitsch seventies style.
Evening Gown
Luxury items for the boudoir, such as silk robes, were again seen on the fashion catwalk. Sensual, feminine, elegant and, best of all, they will be fully appreciated only after dark.
Daddy’s Vest
A vest knitted by your mom as present for daddy when they both were students now can be a hit in your spring wardrobe. A fashion trend of seventies is back in vogue, tapping into the ugly-beautiful trend and treading a delicate line between good and bad taste.
Hide and Seek
The colour black, this spring, is still relevant, but it becomes easier on the eye due to light grids and transparent chiffon. “The new black” finds a cunning way to force one to seek and find the beauty before your eyes; accentuating slim legs and toned bodies.
Lucky Streak
This season, bars have finally gone out of fashion and will probably stay there for a long time. It is time to replace the monotonous, monochrome colour with a dazzling array of bright and contrasting options, with combinations of red, white, black and blue.
As with Someone Else’s Shoulder
In the new season, a never-felt reinterpretation of the proportions of outdoor clothing can now be found. The focus, here, is on the shoulders. Round and feminine or masculine and square: You choose! The designers are struggling to create new forms of elegance and style for the fashionista.
Overalls for all Occasions
This is even more than a trend. This is a required element of the wardrobe of every self-respecting fashion person. According to the majority of editors of fashion, a jumpsuit can now safely be worn as evening apparel at many social events.
Leather Fringe
It is incredibly beautiful and graceful in movement and incredibly feminine when static. Pay close attention to the white jackets and dresses, with entirely decorated fringes. Feel the true spirit of the Wild West!
