The 718 Legends are Back!!
On November 2d, the official dealer of Porsche in Cyprus, the company A. I. Motokinisi, presented three new models for the Boxster, the Cayman and the four—cylinder Macan with the addition of the 718 number in their official name. It should be noted that the 718 number symbolises a low curb weight, speed and racing, since it harkens back to the legendary racing car Porsche 718 that dominated the 1957-1962 era in the gruelling and demanding 24-hour race of Le Mans, with its four cylinder engine. These are, of course, the highlights of the new Porsche models. The four cylinder turbo engines offer a new dimension to the German legend’s fleet.

Porsche 718 Boxster
The Boxster was first introduced to the world some two decades ago and has since performed exemplarily, with incredible sales. At the same time, it has claimed many awards for the German company. On the outside, the 718 Boxster boasts larger headlights and side vents. The rear wing is now placed elegantly between the brake lights. The interior remains largely untouched, with the biggest change being the new steering wheel and redesigned dashboard. The ICE is also upgraded with the Porsche Communication Management software, as well as the touch-screen.

In the engines department, the basic two-litre version produces 300 bhp and 380 Nm at 1.950-4.500 rpm, which is a 35 bhp and 100 Nm increase from the naturally aspirated 2.7 litre, 6-cylinder version. With the Sport Chrono package, the 718 Boxster can reach 100 kilometres per hour in 4.7 seconds, with a top speed of 275 km/h. The Top S version is bolstered with a larger 2.5 litre, 4-cylinder engine and produces 350 bhp and 420 Nm of torque at 1.900-4.500 rpm. In comparison with the 6-cylinder, 3.4 litre engine of the previous Boxster S, this is an increase of 35 bhp and 60 Nm of torque. 0-100 happens in 4.2 seconds, while it can reach a top speed of 285 km/h. Porsche would also like to underline the fact that these four cylinder engines are 13% more frugal in terms of consumption and that, apart from the mechanical 6-gear gearbox, the upgraded PDK is also available.

Porsche Macan
Alongside the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman, Porsche now installs the new 2-litre four-cylinder turbo engines in the Macan, broadening the already wide appeal of its compact SUV. The engine now produces 252 bhp between 5.000-6.800 rpm, with a top speed of 229 km/h. The 4-cylinder unit, with direct injection and variable valve timing in the basic version of the Macan, can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, but with the Sport Chrono package, that time is decreased further to 6.5 seconds. As with all of the Macans, the double-clutch seven-speed automatic PDK gearbox comes as standard.

Consumption for the new 4-cylinder engine Macan is between 7.4 l/100 km and 7.2 l/100 km.

The PTM (Porsche Traction Management) active four-wheel drive system is included as standard equipment and is paired with a ‘flexible’ suspension system and precise steering. Optionally, the driver-regulated air-suspension package can be added. The net curb weight of the Macan is at 1,770 kg, which constitutes the lightest SUV that Porsche has to offer, further enhancing the driving experience of the model. Visually, the new 2-litre model differs from the other Macan only in detail. Black stripes on the exterior, as well as elegant black callipers within the 18-inch rims and the new two single-piped exhaust tips, are featured.
